Healthy babies come from healthy parents!
It takes time to nourish an egg and establish a healthy uterine environment. By “preparing the palace,” we prime the body and womb to support new life.
Three months is the minimum amount of time required to promote a positive change in the reproductive organs. We recommend both partners come in for the initial consultation.
1 visit per week for 3-6 months
2 visits per week for 3-6 months
Acupuncture is excellent in conjunction with western fertility treatments such as in vitro fertilization. We recommend acupuncture twice a week for at least 8 weeks during an IVF cycle. Acupuncture can enhance blood flow to the uterus and ovaries which can improve egg quality, endometrium thickness and hormone balance. Acupuncture is also excellent to calm nerves and reduce stress which can support pregnancy outcomes.
First trimester and birth prep/labor support
Nausea and morning sickness, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and headaches are some of the first trimester symptoms that can be treated with acupuncture and herbal medicine. We recommend 1-2 visits per week for the first 12-14 weeks depending on your symptoms
Birth prep and labor support treatments are a series of 7-9 treatments and should be scheduled between weeks 33-40 of pregnancy. Women who consistently receive acupuncture during their pregnancy and especially in the third trimester have labors that naturally begin on time! In addition to relieving swelling, lower back pain, and carpal tunnel, these treatments help prevent medical induction and the complications that can occur alongside induction. Pre-birth acupuncture treatments can reduce average labor time, decrease the need for intervention and give you more restful sleep to prepare for the journey ahead.
With all the attention on baby, please don’t forget about you! Postpartum is a time to rest and heal after the incredible journey of pregnancy, labor and delivery. Your body has spent roughly 9 months growing new tissue, then birthing a life force. Make sure carve aside YOU-time so you have strength and energy to take care of baby.
12 treatments to be used in one year. We recommend more frequent visits in the first forty days.
