Go with your gut. There is a reason that our gut holds the wisdom of a second brain. Our bowels house millions of nerve cells including key receptors for neurotransmitters that moderate our emotions and give us the sensibility that something is off. The gut and its resident bacteria (over 7 billion in number!) influence the health of nerve and muscle cells and modulate immune tolerance (over 70% of the immune system resides in the bowels). It’s evident that good gut passengers not only determine intestinal health, but also promote an evenness of mental and emotional health, as the influences of gut bacteria are body-wide.

December brought noticeably cooler and shorter days, which draws out an instinctive desire to hibernate.. and make love! A good friend just told us how more people are born on September 16th than any other day, making the holidays a popular time to cozy up and stay in bed longer.
